Precious (John Watson x reader)

"There you go. Easy, (Name). Breathe with me. We're almost there," John muttered against your bare shoulder, hands on your hips. He could feel every shudder and strain as you pushed. A small whimper was your response, face scrunched up in pain.

"Just one more. You're doing fantastic Mrs Watson." The midwife said, Danielle? You couldn't quite remember her name.

The  burning was unbearable, a yell tearing through the peaceful setting John had prepared in the flat.  And just like that, relief washed over you, your arms nearly collapsing from holding up your weight.

"It's a girl. A healthy little girl."

John pressed multiple kisses to your cheek, laughing quietly. You gazed back at him, spotting the tears in the corner of his eyes instantly. It brought a wide smile to your lips, your own happy laugh breaking through.

"Would the father like to cut the cord?" Danielle asked shyly, a little embarrassed she broke the moment up. Though, your husband did not hesitate to nod his head.

John shook his head in pure amazement as Danielle handed off the little girl to him and she turned to help you get situated on the bed. Pillows kept you propped up and comfortable and the blankets were pulled up over your lap. "She's absolutely beautiful, (Name)," he murmured, taking his spot beside you. Your fingers tugged the blanket wrap a bit further back to get a good look at the baby in John's arms.

"She has your hair," you said in astonishment, fingertips brushing over the baby's head.

"Yeah, but she's got your (e/c) eyes. And your nose. God, she's amazing.."

You grinned, placing a chaste and tender kiss to your husband's mouth. "I love you."

"I love you, too. And our precious little (B. Name)."

"It's a fitting name."

"I thought so." John returned a kiss in kind, nuzzling your noses together.
